Transparency in Teaching and Learning (TILT) is a set of evidence-based teaching strategies that aim to make the how and why of learning transparent to students. TILT strategies have been shown to improve student success by helping them understand the methods of teaching and learning. This workshop will cover the basic methods of TILT and provide you with strategies and resources you can immediately implement into your course, along with suggestions for the future. The Ent Center at UCCS and the Youth Documentary Academy present a transformative day of film and conversation exploring mental health topics, including breaking barriers, intergenerational trauma, and navigating the challenges of isolation.   Curated by the UCCS Social Work Club, this event features two screening blocks, each showcasing a unique lineup of films that explore similar themes from different perspectives. Attendees are welcome to join one block or stay for both, but registration is required for each block. The afternoon block introduces one set of compelling short documentaries, while the evening block presents another. Both blocks are followed by engaging discussion panels with the filmmakers, faculty from the School of Social Work, and moderated by the director of the Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention Partnership and our Pikes Peak Poet Laureate.   The dialogue will continue in the Garden of Imagination, an immersive psychedelic nature experience located in the Gallery of Contemporary Art. This unique setting fosters intimate reflection, offering a serene space to deepen the conversations sparked by the films.
