- May 311:00 AMCREATE: Beloved Korean Cooking Class for Faculty and StaffC R E A T E - Cultivating Resilience & Empowering Adaptation Through Expression Join CREATE AND THE CENTER FOR ACTIVE LIVING for a FREE Cooking Class for faculty & staff (on uccs campus) BELOVED KOREAN! Join us for a fun and interactive Korean cooking class where you’ll learn to make some of Korea’s most beloved dishes! Our menu features Kimbap (김밥) – seaweed rice rolls packed with colorful veggies, Japchae (잡채) – savory glass noodles stir-fried with vegetables, Kimchi-Jeon (김치전) – a crispy kimchi pancake bursting with flavor, and Haemul-Pajeon (해물파전) – a hearty seafood and green onion pancake. Whether you’re new to Korean cuisine or looking to sharpen your skills, this class offers step-by-step guidance and tasty results you can enjoy together! Facilitated by Tae Kyung Park (Assistant Professor of Social Work, UCCS): Your instructor is a Korean-born home cook who grew up with the flavors and traditions of Korean cuisine. Though not a professional chef, she learned to cook through family, everyday meals, and a deep love for sharing culture through food. The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, with financial support from the CU President’s Fund, launched CREATE in 2022 to foster community and lifetime resilience. FREE introductory artistic and wellness programming, resilience-based workshops and facilitated discussion/support groups are offered FREE to UCCS employees. We thank our local community artists and UCCS departments, staff, and faculty who have contributed their time and expertise and remain dedicated to the CREATE Initiative.Hosted by: Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience - HealingAdditional Information can be found at: https://mlc.uccs.edu/event/11278761
