- Apr 87:30 PMCru Community GroupCommunity Groups are a place to experience Christ-centered relationships and learn about God together. Our relationship with God is not meant to be lived out in solitude, and our questions about him are not always answered best on our own. Community Groups create space for friendship, for thoughtful conversation, and for growth in our understanding of who God is and what it means to live life with him. Seniors often say it was the best thing they did while in college!Hosted by: CruAdditional Information can be found at: https://mlc.uccs.edu/event/10225401
- Apr 911:30 AMUCCS Ethics Roundtable: To play or not to play?Join us to learn from ethics fellow Kathy Liu, PhD, ATC, and Associate Professor of Health Sciences at the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Science. Join us to learn from Ethics Fellow, Kathy Liu, PhD, ATC, Associate Professor of Health Sciences Navigating the world of collegiate athletics in the era of NIL deals add an extra layer of complexity. In collegiate football, with the addition of the new playoff system along with bowl games, some collegiate-athletes have chosen to sit out their last game of their collegiate career to reduce the risk of injury as they anticipate playing at the next level in the NFL. Students will participate in a debate on the pros and cons of participating in the bowl game or playoff game through the lens of the UCCS Ethics Initiative and the DFEI principles to support their stance. UCCS Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program's Ethics Roundtables are lectures or workshops featuring faculty and staff who have been selected as Ethics Fellows. Roundtables are held throughout the academic year, and are open to all UCCS faculty, staff, Southern Colorado Ethics Consortium schools and interested students. This event provides an opportunity to share best practices, classroom experiences, subject specific course materials, and address specific concerns. Roundtables provide UCCS faculty and staff along with invited guests the opportunity to hear about how others teach ethics and implement principle-based ethics in their work or area of expertise. Lunch is provided. Registration coming soon.Hosted by: Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program at UCCSAdditional Information can be found at: https://mlc.uccs.edu/event/10340277
