- Mar 411:30 AMUCCS Ethics Roundtable: In Our Own Voices: Stories of Ethical Identity DevelopmentJoin us to learn from ethics fellow Monica Furey (Peloso), PhD, LCSW, MSW Practicum Director, Clinical Assistant Professor, Social Work, in the College of Public Service. Social work students are governed by the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics, which integrates DFEI ethical principles. In all of their classes, students explore issues like integrity, trust, accountability, transparency, fairness, respect, rule of law, and viability. Examination of their own ethical identity development helps students hone their ethical decision-making skills for the future. This presentation discusses the process of that examination through personal narrative during a series of events which invite students to discuss and record their personal narrative via oral narration. UCCS Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program's Ethics Roundtables are lectures or workshops featuring faculty and staff who have been selected as Ethics Fellows. Roundtables are held throughout the academic year, and are open to all UCCS faculty, staff, Southern Colorado Ethics Consortium schools and interested students. This event provides an opportunity to share best practices, classroom experiences, subject specific course materials, and address specific concerns. Roundtables provide UCCS faculty and staff along with invited guests the opportunity to hear about how others teach ethics and implement principle-based ethics in their work or area of expertise. Lunch is provided for in person participation.
