- May 155:00 PMOrder of the Engineer | Spring 2025Dear UCCS Engineering Graduating Seniors, If you will be graduating within the next 12 months from UCCS with an Engineering degree, congratulations! This means that you are eligible to join Order of the Engineer, an elite engineering organization. The UCCS Order of the Engineer was founded in 2014, and is accepting new applicants. What is Order of the Engineer? The Order of the Engineer is a solemn obligation to oneself to uphold devotion to the standards and the dignity of the engineering profession. It is an obligation to turn to practical use the principles of science and the means of technology…to serve humanity by making the best use of earth’s precious wealth. The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride, individual integrity, and responsibility in the engineering profession; to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. The ring is an excellent symbol of continuity and community. It is worn for all to see and, in effect, says “Here is an engineer possessed of a publicly avowed dedication to the profession and those it serves.” Why is it relevant to you? It is not a membership organization; there are no meetings or dues collected. It is completely free! Instead, it fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one’s pledge.
