We’re finally getting to the end of this year, and I’m sorry to say that my time on the Scribe is quickly coming to a close. Since I’m about to leave, I figured I could review something a little more controversial.
After Kaylie took on Instagram comments a couple weeks ago, I felt empowered to take on a different internet cesspool. In fact, I was so eager to do it that I was only two weeks late on getting it done: reviewing the UCCS subreddit, r/UCCS.
I am, however, slightly disappointed to report that most of the content on the subreddit is fairly tame. The first post was only 13 years ago. All the same, I did manage to find some unhinged material out of the questions about jobs, housing and campus life. Here are some – truly, all – of the r/UCCS’ best offerings.
- This is from a couple years ago. Some things never change. 7/10 for accuracy.

- Funny how on the internet you can make it clear that something is deeply, deeply wrong with you and it just gets buried in a subreddit for four years. -3/10.

- Hah. 9/10. (Picture actually came from here.)

- Seems about right. 7/10.

- Noooo, not Stanley! I hope they found him. 4/10, 10/10 if he was located. We’ll never know.

- Ugh, Moday and Wensday classes are the worst. 5/10.

- I expected old content, I didn’t expect to unearth a fossil. 3/10.

- Oh, that we did… Alas. 5/10.

- 2012 sure was a year that happened. 2/10.

- I stand by this – r/UCCS asking the REAL questions. 10/10.

- This is incomprehensible to me. ?/10.

- Oh dear! 0/10. (There was another one by this same user, 13 years ago, but it was vile enough that I didn’t want to add it in.)
