Diffuse
Diffuse is an exhibition that reexamines the foundational elements of the 3D modeling pipeline by presenting the 2D texture maps, normally wrapped around digital geometries, as standalone artworks. By divorcing these colorful, abstract images from their intended models, the show exposes a hidden stage of the creative process. Subtle irregularities, stretched UVs, awkward seams and imperfect unwraps, surface as traces of the artist’s evolving skillset, transforming technical “mistakes” into evidence of growth. In this context, each texture map becomes both a vibrant composition in its own right and a candid reflection on the labor behind digital fabrication. Base Layers is a handmade art book that serves as the source material for the wall art in Diffuse.
Free and open to the public.
