Spread the love to your colleagues, family, and friends, and learn about the UCCS Peer Support program. All materials are provided. Led by Nicole Weis, LPC, LAC, Director of Community Training and Empowerment and Peer Support Program Coordinator. Bio: Nicole Weis is a 2016 graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Master’s in Clinical Psychology program, with an emphasis in trauma. Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. In her role at the Institute, Nicole provides Peer Support training to several organizations in Colorado, teaches the Trauma Training for Professionals online program, and manages the GRIT Coaching Program. Nicole is skilled in de-escalation and specializes in working with first responders and personal and community crises. The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, with financial support from the CU President’s Fund, launched CREATE in 2022 to foster community and lifetime resilience. FREE introductory artistic and wellness programming, resilience-based workshops and facilitated discussion/support groups are offered FREE to UCCS employees. We thank our local community artists and UCCS departments, staff and faculty who have contributed their time and expertise and remain dedicated to the CREATE initiative. - May 612:00 PMThe 2nd KFL May Storytelling Event: Story SwapIn collaboration with the UCCS Kraemer Family Library & WEST, the bARTer Collective invites you to participate in a movement of empowerment, transparency, and connection.The bARTer Storytelling Collective will bring the beARTer truck to campus, park near El Pomar Plaza, and collect stories from people passing by. The collective will have story-collectors typing on TYPEWRITERS to collect stories according to a specific prompt, which will later be turned into story artifacts like postcards, digital postcards, and actual books.Join us on the El Pomar Plaza and share an experience that could lift someone else out of that place, that space where we all sometimes get stuck. Sharing this experience could lift you too!
