- Apr 2611:00 AMCREATE: Skin Care Workshop for Faculty and StaffC R E A T E - Cultivating Resilience & Empowering Adaptation Through Expression Join Us for a FREE skin care Class for faculty & staff (on UCCS campus) HANDMADE TALLOW BALM! Join one of CREATE’s most beloved teachers, Tony Merschdorf of soap making fame for a tallow balm workshop. With our extreme weather changes and climate here in Colorado Springs, dry skin is often an annoyance. Homemade tallow balm is a clean, healthy, and luxurious moisturizer that will keep your skin soft and hydrated. Come and craft with your colleagues, learn to make your own tallow balm, and take a jar home with you! About the Artist: Tony Merschdorf has developed area-specific expertise and experience instructing soap-making over the past 4 years. He is a contracted artist-facilitator with Military Arts Connection where he offers classes to Veteran military members. UCCS employees have consistently rated Tony’s classes as exceptional! The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, with financial support from the CU President’s Fund, launched CREATE in 2022 to foster community and lifetime resilience. FREE introductory artistic and wellness programming, resilience-based workshops and facilitated discussion/support groups are offered FREE to UCCS employees. We thank our local community artists and UCCS departments, staff and faculty who have contributed their time and expertise and remain dedicated to the CREATE initiative.Hosted by: Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience - HealingAdditional Information can be found at: https://mlc.uccs.edu/event/11249191
