- Apr 285:30 PMCREATE: Yoga with the Center for Active LivingCultivating Resilience & Empowering Adaptation Through ExpressionJoin Us for a FREE after work yoga class for faculty & staffRevitalize your body and mind with yoga at the Center for Active Living. This is a flow-style yoga class that is open to all levels! We welcome all, even (and especially!) if you have never practiced yoga before. We will work on knowing the basics of yoga movement, strength, balance, & flexibility. Sign up for as many classes as you like, come to one or all! Mondays in April, 5:30 – 6:30pm We ask that you bring your own supplies (i.e., yoga mat, towel, blanket, etc.). Instructor: Dr. Emily is a health science instructor here at UCCS! Her yoga training is called Yoga Sport Science (YSS), which aims to integrate yoga practice into performance training. YSS is also an excellent tool in teaching basic movement skills, and Emily has applied this yoga practice in her own training, conducting general yoga classes, and with sport teams over the last decade. Her goal in all yoga is to make learning movement fun. The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, with financial support from the CU President’s Fund, launched CREATE in 2022 to foster community and lifetime resilience. FREE introductory artistic and wellness programming, resilience-based workshops and facilitated discussion/support groups are offered FREE to UCCS employees. We thank our local community artists and UCCS departments, staff and faculty who have contributed their time and expertise and remain dedicated to the CREATE initiative.
