The El Pomar Plaza sits along the main pedestrian spine at the crossroads of the Library, Osborne Center, and the Engineering Building.
It features a two-ton statue of a mountain lion carved from Colorado marble and sculpted in Aspen, Colorado to complement the spectacular view from the plaza, making this a perfect photo opp. Interestingly, the statue was originally commissioned for Penn State, but a friend of a former UCCS Chancellor outbid Penn State for the statue to come to UCCS.
