- Apr 152:30 PMNature Walk & Environmental Clean-Up!Celebrate Earth Month with the UCCS Hiking Club and Office of Sustainability on the Nature Walk & Environmental Clean-Up along the ROTC Trail at UCCS! Join us for a hike through one of the longest-standing trails on campus, where we’ll clean up the environment while also diving into the fascinating history of the land beneath our feet. The ROTC Trail was once considered to be a part of the “Happy Trail,” a path used during the campus’s time as a sanatorium during the Tuberculosis outbreak. As we walk this historic trail, you’ll learn about the unique role it played in the early days of UCCS and its transformation into the beautiful campus we know today. Along the way, we’ll also explore the local plant life and work together to remove litter, helping to preserve this iconic space for future generations. This is a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn about the history of UCCS, and contribute to the care of our campus environment. Bring your water bottles, curiosity, and love for history and nature as we celebrate Earth Month with a meaningful and educational hike! We will be meeting behind the Main Hall and Campus Services Building!
